Tarrant County is one of the most populated counties in Texas, yet has historically been underserved by quality FAA Part 141 flight schools. Parrish Aviation changed that with the opening of our Fort Worth campus at Hicks Airfield (FAA: T67), 171 Aviator Drive, Fort Worth TX 76179 — ideally positioned in northwest Tarrant County for residents across the entire county.

Whether you're in Fort Worth proper, the Mid-Cities, or the growing northwest Tarrant County suburbs, Hicks Airfield is closer to you than any other Part 141 certified flight school. And as part of Parrish Aviation Flight Academy, you get the same structured curriculum, NAFI Master CFI leadership, and VA-approved GI Bill® access as our Dallas campus.

Hicks Airfield (T67) offers a flight training environment that accelerates student progress in specific ways that larger, busier airports don't:

• Non-towered environment: Students learn self-announcement radio procedures and traffic pattern sequencing from day one — skills that build airmanship independently.
• Low traffic volume: More takeoffs and landings per hour than Class C or D airports. Students solo faster and develop pattern proficiency more quickly.
• Welcoming GA community: Hicks is known as one of North Texas's most supportive general aviation airports with a genuine pilot culture.
• Access to diverse airspace: Within 30 minutes of Class B DFW, Class C Alliance (KAFW), and Class D Meacham (KFTW) — giving Tarrant County students exposure to every airspace type during training.
• FAA Part 141 structure: Same rigorous Parrish Aviation curriculum as KRBD — FAA-reviewed syllabus, stage checks, and career pathway from PPL to CFI.

All Parrish Aviation programs are available to Tarrant County students at our Hicks Airfield campus:

• Discovery Flight (T67) — Your first flight over Fort Worth. Counts toward PPL.
• Private Pilot License — Part 141, 35-hr minimum, solo cross-country over North Texas.
• Instrument Rating — CFII-led IFR training. Real IMC in Texas weather.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate — 190 total hours (Part 141). Career-track precision.
• Career Pilot Program — Zero to Commercial CFI. GI Bill® accepted.
• CFI / CFII — Become an instructor at Hicks Airfield and build toward ATP.

Advanced students may transition between the T67 and KRBD campuses for specific training objectives — towered airport operations, ILS approaches, and stage checks.

Tarrant County is home to a large active-duty and veteran population — including personnel from NAS Fort Worth JRB (Carswell Field) and the many defense contractors across the county. Parrish Aviation's VA-approved, FAA Part 141 certification means Tarrant County veterans can use GI Bill® benefits at our Hicks Airfield campus.
