Flight School Near Fort Worth — Parrish Aviation at Hicks Airfield (T67)

Fort Worth pilots have a flight school in their own backyard. Hicks Airfield (FAA: T67), 100 Aviator Dr, Fort Worth, TX 76179 is a beloved general aviation airport in northwest Fort Worth — and Parrish Aviation Flight Academy operates its Fort Worth campus here.

For residents of Fort Worth, Keller, Saginaw, Haslet, Azle, Springtown, and all of northwest Tarrant County, Hicks Airfield means a short commute to one of the most capable FAA Part 141 certified flight programs in Texas. The same Career Pilot Program and NAFI Master CFI leadership available at our Dallas campus — now at a non-towered airport purpose-built for beginner and advanced pilot training.

Fort Worth student pilots have trained at Hicks Airfield (T67) for decades — and for good reason:

• Low traffic volume — More pattern repetitions per hour than Alliance, Meacham, or Spinks. Faster solo readiness.
• Non-towered environment for beginners — Students develop radio self-announcement discipline and pattern awareness before transitioning to towered Class D and C airports.
• Proximity to every DFW airspace type — Train in uncontrolled T67 airspace, then fly to Class D Meacham (KFTW), Class C Alliance (KAFW), or Class B DFW — all within a 30-minute flight.
• FAA Part 141 curriculum — Lower minimum hours and mandatory stage checks. All the advantages of a structured program.
• NAFI Master CFI oversight — Jack Parrish, ATP and founder, maintains instructional standards across both campuses.

Every Parrish Aviation program is available to Fort Worth area students at Hicks Airfield:

• Discovery Flight (T67) — First flight over Fort Worth. $199–$299. Counts toward PPL.
• Private Pilot License — FAA Part 141, 35-hr minimum.
• Instrument Rating — IFR training with CFII. Real IMC exposure in Texas weather.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate — 190 total hours (Part 141).
• Career Pilot Program — Zero to Commercial CFI, complete airline-track pathway.
• CFI / CFII — Become a Parrish Aviation flight instructor at T67 and build hours toward ATP.

Fort Worth career students can also cross-train at our Dallas Executive Airport (KRBD) campus for towered airport proficiency, ILS training, and on-site PSI Knowledge Testing.
